Packing Tips Preparing for a move - Packing your items Useful Packing Tips 1. Packing Fragile items: These should be individually wrapped and placed in cartons to help avoid breakages 2. Pictures and Mirrors: These should be protected in bubble wrap and put into heavy duty cartons designed for this purpose 3. Wardrobe Cartons: These provide a perfect way to transport clothes to minimise creasing. 4. Mattress Covers: Plastic covers for mattresses and soft furnishings are available and using these will protect items and keep them dry 5. Label your Cartons: Use a permanent marker to clearly label cartons on the outside. It is also a good idea to make a list of the contents to put inside, on top, before you close the carton. If it's a home removal add the 'room' it needs to go in, to make it easier to unpack when you arrive at your new home 6. Fragile items: Clearly mark cartons that contain 'Fragile' items in them 7. On the day of the move: Pack a bag of personal essentials for the day of the move and make sure you keep this separate from what is going in the removals vehicle 8. Take your time and be patient: Don't waste too much time popping the bubble wrap and remember its all about keeping calm and working steadily until everything is packed safely
