Packing Guidance for your Move
Containers and Crates for Removal Use are Supplied by Badgers
Badgers will supply and deliver their specialised purpose made plastic
containers and/or crates for the move, at a time that is convenient to
you, prior to the move. These containers/crates can be used to pack all
your items for removal. Assistance is available to move filled containers/crates.
Badgers staff will work to your instructions during the packing and unpacking
period. NOTE: IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO OVERFILL CRATES WHEN PACKING, MAKE
SURE CONTENTS DO NOT GO ABOVE THE METAL BARS WHEICH ARE USED WHEN CONTAINERS
ARE PLACED IN THE STACKING POSITION.
Packing Service
Badgers staff are available by prior arrqangement to assist with
packing.
Pack Contents Separately - Empty your Drawers and Shelves
As a general rule all furniture and shelving to be moved should be empty
of contents. The contents should be packed separately and clearly labelled.
Fragile items should be packed in bubblewrap.
Unlock Drawers and Furniture with Doors
Drawers and furniture with doors that have locks should be left open and
the keys labelled and packed separately for the move (or carried by you).
Servers, PCs, Computers, Routers, External Hard Drives and IT Equipment
All Servers, PCs, computers and peripheral equipment should be shut
down and switched off. Make sure that backups have been made BEFORE the
move. All the smaller peripheral items should be disconnected and bubblewrapped,
securely bagged or boxed, clearly labeled and packed safely in the Badgers
containers.
Badgers staff will bubblewrap and pack items into containers if this
is required.
Labelling and Room Plans
It is important to discuss labeling and room plans with the Badgers
Removals Manager or Representative to ensure this is carried out in an
organised and clear manner. IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT MUST NOT BE REMOVED
- MAKE SURE THIS IS CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD BY BADGERS STAFF.
To ensure that all items are removed and installed in the new premises
as required, there should be a set of room plans prepared by you and available
to the Badgers Removals Manager or Representative at the time of the move.
Responsibility for installing IT equipment and reassembling furniture
etc should be clearly understood by both parties before the move.
Label Positions
Use permanent markers to write your labels and use one label, placed
on a vertical short side - NOT ON TOP - of each crate or container.
When labelling furniture or other items place the label in a convenient
for Badgers staff to read.
Tables should be labelled on the top
Desks should be labelled on the top, front right hand comer, the side
where the user would sit.
Filing cabinets should be labelled, on the top, front right hand corner.
Label items with a similar shape to the above in the same way.
