When you use Badgers services, whether it be for removals, storage, crate hire or purchase or simply for the supply of packaging materials you can depend upon the fact that you are dealing with a team of dedicated professionals committed to providing the customer with the highest possible standard of service. Nothing is left to chance, from the estimation stage through to completion of the job, we guarantee that you will be in the hands of a skilled team that can be relied upon to get the task done to your absolute satisfaction. Everything will be planned carefully in advance so that nothing can go wrong on the day. Police permission will be obtained where parking restrictions apply, vehicles will be modern and purpose designed, well equipped with all the necessary tools and accessories to facilitate the overall efficiency of the assignment in hand. The operational staff contains an assortment of skills such as carpenters and joiners to supplement the drivers and porters thus enabling us to operate with the utmost degree of expertise. Staff will be polite and helpful, wear company uniforms/overalls and carry identification documents. Vehicles are all sign written with the company's logo and will be clean, regularly serviced and generally presentable. In the event of any problems or queries, the removals office is open from 7.30 am until 5.30 pm from Mondays to Fridays, and weekends too at times when re-locations are being carried out. A foreman will always be present at the site to supervise the other personnel so you can be assured that your work will be properly undertaken. Health and Safety regulations, Equal Opportunities rules and legal requirements generally are all strictly adhered to. Employees who disregard company policy on these matters are liable to disciplinary procedures including dismissal if they fail to live up to the high standards expected of them. Respect for customers premises and property are a priority feature of the service, and suitable precautions will be taken in all cases to prevent and minimise the risk of any damage or other mishap occurring. All supervisory staff are equipped with mobile telephones to enable them to contact the office, the client, and the emergency services as applicable. All this adds to the proficiency of the crew whose task it is to transfer your valuable belongings from your old premises to the new ones whilst minimising the obvious risks attached to such a delicate operation. All movements are recorded on computer, covered by goods in transit insurance and public liability insurance, and will be dealt with using a second to none degree of care and precision. The quality of service is our most important feature as this increases our already good reputation, and enables us to continue expanding and modernising in line with the ever changing market place. At our base in South East London, there are some eight thousand square feet of storage space, a secure lorry park, security patrols and alarms direct to control stations. The entire complex is perimeter fenced. Proper lifting equipment, racking, temperature control, and damp proofing are all in place to safeguard your valuable assets and documents entrusted to our care. All of this will increase the customer's peace of mind and reduce the inconvenience caused when re-locating and storing. Large stocks of plastic crates, cartons, and all kinds of other packing materials are maintained on location ready for immediate supply or use. We will undertake work at any time night or day to suit your individual needs. In short we will tailor our service to your requirements. We will collect from and deliver to any part of the United Kingdom or Ireland, and to other places by prior agreement. Recycling and waste disposal The inroduction of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEE) governs the way in which electrical equipment is disposed of. All government directives and environmental issues surrounding waste disposal are affecting the way all of us dispose of our waste. Badgers, in providing waste disposal services, are fully aware of our responsibilities relating to these services. We make every effort to comply with government directives and environmental policies. Our company policy includes continuous development and review in the area of waste handling services relating to recycling. Procedures are followed to control every aspect of a move and this includes handling rubbish and waste that may be generated. Recycling is a major consideration in the waste handling industry and every effort is made by Badgers to follow procedures for ethical recycling whenever this is possible during our provision of waste disposal services. Health and Safety Every Badgers employee, contractor or temporary employee while at work is required by the 'Health & Safety at Work Act' to: Take reasonable care for the Health & Safety of himself and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work Co-operate with their superiors and any other person so far as is necessary to enable them to comply with the safety duty or requirement Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of Health & Safety. It is Badgers company policy that, as far as is reasonably practicable, personnel in charge of removal operations, training or routine work are responsible for ensuring that safe methods and environmental conditions exist in their area or responsibility. The 'Health & Safety at Work Act' does not require that all hazardous activities at work be stopped during a removal operation, but that adequate precautions are taken to safeguard the Health and Welfare of those engaged in them. The Act requires that these precautions also extend to other persons, including those not employed by Badgers, so that they are not put at risk by these activities. Overall responsibility for the 'Health & Safety at Work Act' of personnel at Badgers falls to the Company Health & Safety Officer (CHSO). Responsibilities and terms of reference are contained in our full Policy Statement. All personnel are expected to assist the CHSO by informing him directly of any incident, practice or occurrence that is a real or potential hazard to Health, Safety and Welfare of any member of the establishment or other person visiting the area where the activities are taking place. Particular attention is given to: Taking all practicable steps within reason, to ensure that all known factors are taken into account in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of buildings, machinery and equipment. Any premises in which work is undertaken will be operated and maintained to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, a safe and healthy system of working. Ensuring that employees are adequately trained and given instructions to enable them to carry out all aspects of their work. Providing, where necessary, approved protective equipment and clothing and ensuring that its proper use is understood. Taking all reasonable steps to inform employees about materials equipment or processes, used in their work, which are thought to be potentially hazardous to Health & Safety. Keeping all operations and methods of work under review so that they can, if necessary be revised in the light of experience and up-to-date knowledge. Providing appropriate facilities for first aid and prompt treatment for any injury or illness at work. Ensuring that procedures are in operation for fire prevention. Ensuring all electrical equipment and systems are safe and do not endanger health. Ensuring that professional advice is obtained where potentially hazardous situations exist or might arise. Promoting methods for collecting, analysing and presenting data on accidents, sickness and incidents involving personal injury to health.
